But where does the nanny come from?

Where does the nanny come from?
-
Did she come specifically to work for you?
-
How do you communicate with her? Does she speak English?
-
Does she live with you?
-
…and does that not bother you?
The idea itself may not be controversial, but it certainly tends to spark a lot of emotions.

#I don’t live in a house and can’t provide accommodation for the nanny
You don’t need a large house or a spare apartment to hire a full-time nanny. If you can’t provide accommodation, we can help arrange a nearby room for her. If another family in your area also hires a Latin American nanny, we can accommodate them together. This benefits both you (lower costs) and the nannies (social interaction and support).
#Does the nanny need to travel with us on holiday?
It’s entirely up to you! It’s a good idea to discuss your expectations on this topic during the recruitment interview. If you prefer to go on vacation or trips with friends on your own (as long as it’s not during holidays), the nanny should receive a daily allowance.
However, most families find it more convenient to take the nanny along: children get even more exposure to the language, and parents can also enjoy some time for themselves or go out in the evening while the nanny stays with the sleeping children.
#Why Choose a Latin American Nanny?
Why choose Latin American nannies instead of English-speaking ones? Check out the “Why Nana Latina” section to discover why it’s worth starting language learning early for your children and why Spanish is a great choice.
Why Latin American rather than, for example, Spanish nannies? Nannies from Central and South America — especially Mexico, Ecuador, and Venezuela — are known for their warm and cheerful personalities, which makes it easy for them to build a strong connection with children. They are friendly and open, helping children feel comfortable and safe quickly.
A nanny who travels halfway across the world to work with your family is highly committed and dedicated. You can count on her full support in daily life — not only when playing with your children but also with cooking, cleaning, and other household tasks.
#I don't speak Spanish - how will I communicate with the nanny?
No worries! Many of our nannies have a basic knowledge of English, so you’ll be able to communicate comfortably on everyday matters. For more complex issues, you can always use a translator if needed. During the recruitment interview, a professional translator will be present — this ensures that the language barrier doesn’t affect the effectiveness of the conversation. You’ll be able to ask all your questions and be confident that both sides fully understand each other.
Once you decide to hire a nanny, we’ll handle her onboarding: we’ll provide her with all the important information about your family’s routines, customs, and expectations. This is a very convenient way to guide the nanny on where to focus to ensure a successful collaboration.
We provide similar support throughout the entire duration of the contract. If there are any specific matters that require the nanny’s attention, you can rely on us to address them directly with her.
#What if the Collaboration Doesn’t Work Out and We Need to End the Contract?
Even with a thorough and detailed recruitment process, sometimes the family and nanny may not be a perfect match (for example, personality differences), and the collaboration may not be satisfactory for one of the parties. We understand this — we’ve been in that situation ourselves.
We do, however, take steps to minimize the risk of mismatch: both nannies and parents receive materials to help them understand each other’s worlds, explain potential cultural differences, and provide guidance on effective communication and collaboration.
If you decide to end the contract, it’s best to let us know within the first 8 weeks of the cooperation (but not earlier than 2 weeks). We will then find a new nanny for you — free of charge. Similarly, if your nanny needs to leave for any reason before the contract ends, we will recruit a replacement as quickly as possible.
